Indiana Jones 5: Could the film introduce a younger version of the famous archaeologist?

As you already know, the exit ofIndiana Jones 5 in movie theaters has been moved back, which is pretty bad news for the movie… However, Harrison Ford, his interpreter since the arrival of the franchise on the big screen, is approaching 80 years. In other words, his participation in the saga is questioned! How could the star perform the stunts that fall on his character at such an advanced age, while keeping his credibility? Even if the actor is fit enough to ensure the action scenes on the set of the film, as he did until very recently, Disney studios will not be able to use it indefinitely (much to our regret). This is why the best solution is to mix two different eras within the plot of the film and introduce its heir!

Indiana Jones as River Phoenix

Indeed, if the scenario of the archaeologist’s next adventures intertwines two temporalities within the same narrative framework, then a younger version of the character can be introduced on the screen. Yes, like with River Phoenix in The Last Crusade ! We would have on one side the “present” of the story with the Indiana Jones of Harrison Ford, and on the other the “past”, with a different actor responsible for interpreting the hero when he was twenty years. The Kingdom of Crystal was at the end of the 50’s, which means that the sequel will take place in the 60’s … So we would have a frame in the 60’s and another in the 20’s. This would allow fans of the professor to find the one they have always known and loved, while familiarizing themselves with the actor who will take over in the future. If today, “replacing” Harrison Ford seems impossible to us, it seems inconceivable that the Disney studios give up such a lucrative franchise. Even if Indiana Jones 5 will not be a reboot, in this way it would introduce a bright future for the archaeologist!
