Sydney: The Indian cricket team, which arrived in Sydney for the third Test against Australia, has strictly adopted the Kovid protocol in Sydney. It was only after arriving in Sydney this morning that the Indian team made it clear that it would accept the Kovid restrictions imposed on Sydney.
The Indian team management has said it will accept the restrictions in Sydney after Team India expressed strong opposition to the Kovid restrictions in Brisbane, the venue for the fourth Test of the series. The Indian team has been given guidance on the restrictions in Sydney. No players or support staff can leave the hotel in Sydney without competition and training. Players are also advised to maintain a social distance during training.
Meanwhile, India was relieved that all the five players, including Rohit Sharma, who went to a restaurant in Melbourne in violation of the Kovid rules, had a negative Kovid test result. Before leaving Melbourne, the players underwent an RTPCR test for Kovid testing. Kovid will once again test the players before the third Test, which starts on Thursday.
