Cairo: Indian Rudranksh Patil made history by winning gold in the World Shooting Championship. ISSF held in Cairo, Egypt. Rudranksh, a teenager, won gold in the men’s 10-meter rifle at the World Shooting Championships.
The actor is only 18 years old. With this gold, he became the first Indian since 2006 to win gold in the men’s 10-meter rifle at the World Shooting Championships.
Rudranksh holds the record of being the star. Previously, India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist, Abhinav Bindra, won gold in this event.
Rudranksh also won gold at the recently concluded National Games. Rudranksh, originally from Maharashtra, won gold by beating the Italian DD Solazzo in the final. Under 4-10 in one stage, Rudranksh then returned with a brilliant performance by winning 17-13. Solasso won silver and China’s Lihao Zheng won bronze.
With this victory, the 18-year-old also qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Last month, another Indian shooter, Bovneesh Mendiratha, also qualified for the Olympics.
