ABU DHABI ∙ Open Chess Tournament organized by Indian Islamic Center in association with Abu Dhabi Chess Club will start tomorrow (Saturday). 400 people from more than 20 countries will come to participate in the Chaturanga game. Abu Dhabi Chess Club Executive Director Saeed Ahmed Al Khoori said that under-16 competitions are given importance as part of attracting the new generation to chess. Extensive facilities are also provided for training. A special training program was also devised in collaboration with various schools.
Under 16 will be held in 2 categories from 10 am to 1 pm. Open category competition will be from 5 pm to 10 pm. Azerbaijan star 84th Grand Master Arkadyj Naidish will be the chief guest. Adv. General Secretary Adv. KV Muhammad Kunhi said. Abu Dhabi Chess Club Chief Coach Bogdan, Center Vice President Ibrahim Basheer, Treasurer Hidayatullah, Chief Coordinator P.T. Rafeeq and Sports Secretary Jalil Kariyedat also attended.
