Indian Hockey Star Sreejesh Receives ₹2 Crore Reward for Paris Olympics Bronze Medal Contribution and New Coaching Role

Member of the bronze medal winning Indian PR team in Paris Olympics hockey. The state government has announced a reward of two crore rupees for Sreejesh. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Earlier in Thiruvananthapuram, a function was organized for Sreejesh under the government.

After the Tokyo Olympics, the Indian hockey team also won the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics. Sreejesh played an important role in both. The outstanding performance of the star, who saved 50 of the 62 shots he faced in eight matches of the Games, was crucial in India’s success.

Sreejesh retired from international hockey after the Paris Olympics. Even before the Olympics, Sreejesh had announced that Paris would be his last match. After his retirement, Hockey India announced that the number 16 jersey worn by Sreejesh would also be retired.
