The project aims to create thousands of high value-added jobs in the field of computer programming and services.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Morocco’s Ambassador to India, Mohamed Maleki, and representatives of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports, and “MedZeed” (national leader in the creation and the development of economic zones, activities in the field of transfer of services).
This memorandum of understanding reflects the stability of an Indian giant in the field of relocation of services in Morocco, which is active in more than 50 countries around the world, employs more than 200,000 people and has achieved a turnover of business of more than 11 billion dollars. in 2022.
As part of this memorandum of understanding, HCL Technologies intends to open a software migration center in Morocco, with the aim of producing high value-added technological services for its global customers, according to a press release from the Ministry of Digital Transition and management reform.
The same source pointed out that the Indian company also intends to invest in the field of training Moroccan skills in the digital field.
This strategic initiative of HCL Technologies aims to expand its production capacities at the international level, relying on the strategic location of the Kingdom of Morocco and its geographical proximity to Europe and as a gateway to the African continent, in addition its richness in terms of Moroccan skills in the field of information technology. This initiative is part of the royal vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who called for strengthening the Kingdom of Morocco as a preferred destination for foreign investment in new global markets, such as India.
This MoU represents an important strategic choice for the Indian market, which accounts for 52% of the global relocation services market. For its part, Morocco is now among the top three players in the field of relocation services in Africa.
This memorandum of understanding was concluded within the framework of the visit of a Moroccan economic delegation to the Republic of India, led by Ms. Mazur.
