Palakkad ∙ The police received information that Zulfikar (48), a native of Kapoor, died in a prison in Pakistan. The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the Additional Chief Secretary of State Home Affairs to take steps to receive the dead body which will be brought to Attara on the border of Punjab today and hand it over to the relatives.
It is indicated that Zulfikar arrived in the Karachi jail after he was arrested by the Pakistani army as an Indian fisherman who had crossed the border. Kerala Palace received the death information yesterday morning.
It is also reported that agencies including the NIA were investigating Zulfikar, who was in Dubai for years.
