INDOZONE.ID – The sun is indeed a very hot star with a temperature of more than 5000 degrees Celsius. But it turns out that there are other stars that have even hotter temperatures as discovered by astronomers from India.
Quoted from WIO News, a group of astronomers from Pune, India has found 8 stars that fall into the rare class Main-sequence Radio Pulse (MRP) and have temperatures slightly hotter than the temperature of the Sun.
As information, MRP itself is usually used as a classification of stars that have a temperature hotter than the Sun. The star also has a larger magnetic field. The first star of the MRP type was discovered in 2000.
These stars were also found using the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT), which is currently getting an upgrade so that it has a wider bandwidth and higher sensitivity.
Actually, the astronomers not only found 8 stars hotter than the Sun, using GMRT, now the astronomers have found 11 stars with the MRP class.
“These discoveries are the fruit of an ongoing survey using GMRT, which was launched specifically with the aim of solving the mystery of the MRP in space,” said the astronomer who discovered the MRP.
