India with a record – 7.5 million vaccinated per day

A record 7 and a half million vaccinations a day were registered in India, news agencies reported. This came after a policy change that facilitated the immunization process.

The Indian states has opened mass vaccination sites in school grounds, classrooms and other facilities after the government’s free boost to immunize against COVID-19 was extended to anyone over the age of 18.

So far, less than 5 percent of India’s population of 1.3 billion has been fully vaccinated. About 282 million people received at least one dose of the two vaccines approved for emergency use in January.

Meanwhile, it has become clear that the WHO is creating a technology center for the production of RNA vaccines in South Africa, said the director of the organization Tedros Gebreyesus, quoted by Reuters. The consortium will include local companies, and their employees will receive the necessary training to start producing vaccines.
