And the Indian (NDTV) channel – in its English-language bulletin – stated that India recorded 11,109 new cases of coronavirus within 24 hours, bringing the number of active cases in the country to 49,622.
The channel added that the death toll from infection with the virus in the country rose to 531 thousand and 64 cases, after 29 new deaths were recorded.
The pace of daily infections in India slowed at the beginning of this year.
