When asked if Anies would be paired with Rano Karno, Ahmad said it was Megawati’s responsibility. He confirmed that Rano Karno is one of the candidates for governor of Jakarta. Other names are Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok and Andika Perkasa.
Ahmad said that since the party was responsible for the PDIP party to select candidates for Jakarta Governor, the process had been going on for a long time. He has been in intensive contact with PKB General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, who previously promoted Anies. “Even after the decision of the Constitutional Court, we continued to communicate,” he said.

Regarding the requirement that Anies must be a PDIP group to be promoted, Ahmad said that there are many options that can be used, such as political collaboration with external figures or outside the PDIP. “Can you join directly as member and cadre or do political collaboration. But the most important thing is not the formal status of having KTA or not, but your heart, thoughts, actions are the same and according to the vision of the PDIP and ideals,” said Ahmad.
Ahmad said that Megawati would announce the DKI gubernatorial candidates at the same time as announcing proposals for the third wave of gubernatorial candidates soon. The choice for Anies, he said, “Just let it flow and lead to what’s best for everyone,” he said.
