NEW DELHI, Dec 8 (Reuters) – India’s government regulator may license some COVID-19 vaccine developers in the coming weeks, the country’s top health official said on Tuesday.

Six vaccines, including Covidshield from Astra Zeneca and Covaxin from Bharat Biotech, are in the testing phase, Federal Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan told a news conference.

Bhushan said that Bharat Biotech had applied for emergency use authorization from India’s drug regulator for its COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer and Astra Zeneca had already requested authorization.
