India is ramping up its production of vaccines after the rapid rise in cases of “Covid-19” disease, which is led by a new variant of the emerging corona virus called the “Arcturus” mutant, according to the “Acturus” newspaper.The Independent” British.
The country reported 10,158 coronavirus cases on Thursday, an increase of 30 percent in one day, according to data from the federal health ministry.
A week ago, the Indian Minister of Health, Mansukh Mandavia, called on the health authorities in all Indian states to be alert and prepared to face a new wave of the Corona virus pandemic, after reports of a sharp rise in the number of infections.
In the virtual meeting he held with local health ministers of all states and key secretaries last Friday, Mandavia emphasized identifying emergency hotspots by monitoring trends of influenza-like diseases and acute respiratory infections, ramping up testing and vaccination campaigns, and ensuring hospital infrastructure is ready.
He warned of the need to enhance people’s awareness to avoid infection with the virus, and to follow preventive instructions, in addition to strengthening the tracking of genome sequencing, especially the complete genome of positive samples.
Mandavia appealed to all states to continue working in a spirit of cooperation, as happened during the previous waves, to prevent and deal with COVID-19, as he described it.
