India Announces 15-Member Squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Historic Inclusion of Two Malayalam Players

Mumbai: BCCI has named a 15-member Indian squad for the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup. Two Malayalam players were included in the team. Asha Shobhana and Sajana Sajeev are the Malayalis in the 15-member team. This is the first time that two Malayalam players have been included in the Indian cricket team for the World Cup at the same time. The captain is Harmanpreet Kaur. Smriti Mandana will be the vice-captain. The tournament will be held in Dubai and Sharjah from 3 to 20 October.

There will be a total of 23 games in the tournament. The groups are as previously described. Apart from defending champions Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are in Group A. South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland are in Group B .Each team in the group competes against each other.
