India and Colombia review cooperation on environment

The meeting focused on key global issues such as climate change and biodiversity.

During the talks, Singh expressed his best wishes to Colombia for the upcoming United Nations Conference on Biodiversity, which will be held in Cali from October 21 to November 1.

She also shared details of the national campaign Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (A Tree in the Name of Mother), an initiative that seeks to promote environmental responsibility while honoring respect and devotion towards mothers.

Singh also showed the Colombian vice minister a collection of paintings, which are exhibited in the Ministry for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, which reflect the rich interaction between nature and culture.

As part of his activities in India, Vice Foreign Minister Jorge Rojas co-chaired the tenth round of consultations between foreign ministries, together with Jaideep Mazumdar, Secretary of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, cooperation in trade and investment, energy and infrastructure, including railways, was comprehensively reviewed.

The parties also addressed, among other topics, collaboration in health and pharmaceutical products, traditional medicines, digital technology and space, consular affairs, education, culture and relations between peoples.

The delegations of the two countries expressed their satisfaction with the progress achieved in different sectors and agreed to explore new avenues of cooperation.

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the South American country also met with the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, L. Murugan, and both signed an audiovisual co-production agreement that will allow film producers from both countries to use a platform for collaboration in various facets of achievement in that field.
