Dubai: India beat Pakistan by seven runs in the upcoming Asia Cup. Chasing the target of 184 runs set by India, Pakistan managed to score 176 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Pakistan needed 17 runs in the last over which was bowled by Anshul Kamboj. Cambodia Abdul Samad (25 off 15 balls) who was busted in the first ball returned, but gave a boundary in the third and last ball, but Pakistan managed to score 9 runs. India score 183-8 in 20 overs, Pakistan 176-7 in 20 PL.

India, who won the toss and batted first, scored 183 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Captain Tilak Verma scored 44 runs and was India’s top scorer. Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh gave India a good start. The two combined to take India to 68 runs in the powerplay. After the powerplay, Abhishek Sharma’s 22-ball 35 was returned by Sufiyan Mukeem to give Pakistan a break. Prabhsimran (36 off 19 balls) was followed by Arafat Minhas.

Captain Tilak Verma and Nehal Vadhera took India to 100. Nehal Vadhera (25 from 22 balls) fell when the score was 113 in the fourteenth over. Sufiyan Mukeem took his own wicket then Ayush Badoni (2) also made a disappointing return, but Tilak Verma, who stood firm at one end, took India past 150.
