We’re days away from the season-ending Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will decide who will be the 2021 World Champion of the Year.
The two excellent riders have scored 369.5 points so far, but Verstappen has won nine races this year and his 36-year-old rival only eight, so if neither of them were to score or score in the UAE, he would be a 24-year-old Red Bull driver. he could celebrate, because due to his several victories, he would have the World Cup title.
Jos Verstappen, who started in 106 F1 races between 1994 and 2003, told the Daily Mail his son will not sacrifice his own race just to knock out Hamilton.
Max definitely wants to win. Obviously, he’s trying to beat Hamilton, and so he’ll do his best, so it’ll be exciting
Said the 49-year-old racer, who also spoke about his and his son’s relationship with Hamilton.
I never talked to him, and neither did he, because I mean nothing to him. I respect you as a racer, but the rest … well, we’d rather leave it at that
Said Jos Verstappen, noting that his son only talks to the seven-time world champion when they are on the podium together.
I see Max getting along well with the other pilots, but Lewis is not one of them because he lives in his own world
Said Verstappen the Elder.
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the finalist of the World Championship, will start at 2 p.m.
