We had relatively fond memories of Brazil, which had never finished 10th place before 2015 at the World Water Polo Championships (2015). The Hungarian team, led by Tibor Benedek, and finally the 5th place, beat the national team to 10–6 in the group round, 13 to 4 in the straight relegation stage.
The other two teams in the quartet, Montenegro and Georgia, played fierce matches against each other after the first two completely opposite halves (1-4, 3-0), and six seconds before the end, the Montenegrin goalkeeper played. it took double feats for the Balkans to pull in the victory.

And between the two matches, the organizers and fans did not forget to commemorate the day of the Olympics, the anniversary of the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. This was also the case for most of the sports that gave the Hungarian Olympic champions.
The fall of Krisztián Manhercz was even more spectacular than the imposing drapery, with which the Hungarian national team took the lead after a minute and a half of play. On the “holiday” ours threw themselves into the match with a great deal, we didn’t even go halfway through the quarter, when Dénes Varga and then Manhercz lost the difference between the two teams to three.
According to the promise of Tamás Märcz, he wanted to use the match against the weakest group opponent on paper to further develop the team unit, try out new characters and practice. The starting team was already right: Márton Lévai replaced Vogel Soma, who was chosen as the best in the field against Montenegro, and Gergő Burián, who made his goal debut on Tuesday, also got out of the game in the first quarter.
Pualo Pedroso beautified the middle of the game, but it didn’t give much cause for concern either: it didn’t take two minutes. Then, eight seconds before the bagpipe, it was played by Zalánki 7–1-re the job.
The sequel was also confident, although it was more reminiscent of the battle-fighting, physical water polo projected by the federal captain: we won the second quarter 4-2 and the third 4-1.
It was less than 22 minutes since the match, when the difference with Zalánki’s goal increased to ten for the first time. The Brazilians seemed more and more tired, and although they still ran for their defenses as they ran out of their strength, they did not get to the end of their own attacks until the end of the attack time, just dropping the ball into one of the corners of the pool without a quick start. to operate and get away with the Hungarian national team …

We couldn’t complain about the situation either, we went to 31 goal attempts by the beginning of the fourth quarter. Another two quick Hungarian goals followed, Tamás Mezei also scored from the center – the last of the Hungarian field players, increasing the difference to 17–4 six minutes before the end. Alexandre Mendes, the Brazilian goalkeeper, sighed more and more frequently over the right shoulder, glancing at the watch for the remaining playing time, his seconds barely fast. Angel, then Hárai was from a successful center – there was no sign of the aggressive Brazilian defense he saw in the middle of the match. Ours did not stop until twenty goals, and although the South Americans also scored twice in the final game, the Dénes Varga still achieved a much more confident success than expected. (20–6). Among us, Varga – who was also chosen as the best of the match – Ádám Nagy and Gergő Zalánki also got three hits – thus proving to be the most successful members of the field.
The perfection of the t-shirt day was only disturbed by the fact that the Italy-Canada match, which was originally scheduled for 19:30, could not be held at the Sopron Swimming Pool. According to the Index, more players in North America have tested positive for coronavirus …
The Hungarian T-shirt team can secure a group victory against Georgia on Saturday night, making it one of the top eight.
