The Tokyo Olympics got off to a great start for the Hungarians, as we were able to celebrate the first gold medal on Saturday thanks to Áron Szilágyi.
The 31-year-old athlete defeated his Italian opponent, Luigi Samele, 15: 7 in the men’s sword individual final, wrote history and became Olympic champion three times in a row.
Hopefully the sequel will be similar, and Miklós Ilku and Barnabás Palotai will be able to report to the Index on the venue on Sunday about further Hungarian successes.
It will be worth staying with us on the second day of the Olympics, starting at night, for example, sport shooting will start at 2, in which you can squeeze for Major Veronica, as well as fencing, in which Fanni Kreiss, Kata Kondricz and Flóra Pásztor will also enter.
And the good comes only after that: Márton Fucsovics plays against the Polish Hubert Hurkacz at dawn in the first round of men’s tennis, while Dávid Verrasztó, Katinka Hosszú and Viktória Mihályvári-Farkas you can swim for a gold medal men’s and women’s 400 meters mixed.
But our men’s water polo and women’s handball teams will also start their Olympic appearances, so there will be plenty of excitement on Sunday as well.
Follow us in Tokyo, Hungarian successes!
