As is well known, Hungary defeated Croatia with four goals in the quarterfinals, while Greece smoothly settled (10–4) Montenegro among the top eight, thus forming the semi-final match. The federal captain Tamás Märcz put his vote next to the field players again, he only named Viktor Nagy the goalkeeper in the match frame, Soma Vogel was left out.
1st quarter
The Hungarian national team started the match with two goalposts, the Greeks started the match with two missed human forums. As Federal captain Tamás Märcz predicted a defensive match with few goals – the first quarter confirmed this. At the end of the sixth minute we could attack with a double human advantage for the lead, but Gergő Zalánki shot into the block. On the other hand, Styrian Argiropulos, on the other hand, into the net, so the Greeks took precedence. They increased this from their next attack, but the first Hungarian hit was made, Márton Vámos bombed the net – we have already used our third forum. (2–1)
2nd quarter
In the second half, after a quick goal change, we had a great opportunity to equalize, but in a double human advantage, they blew a counter against Daniel Angel. Thanks to our great defense and Viktor Nagy’s feats, we had several balls to equalize, but we didn’t manage to live with any of them, so the one-goal difference remained for the big break. (3–2)
3rd quarter
Mátyás Pásztor improved our human efficiency when he fired into the gate with the help of the slat after the turn. Unfortunately, two minutes later, in the middle of the quarter, came the response from the Greeks, also out of line. The Hungarian national team also fought for a human advantage, Tamás Märcz asked for time, psychologically important moments followed. The tactical variation invented by the federal captain also came in, with Krisztián Manhercz hoping for a quarter-final draw. The Hungarian national team did not have argiropulos, the Greek player hit him in the match for the fourth time, so the advantage was there again. (5–4)
4th quarter
We started the last part of the game well, the fought manpower was replaced by Manhercz with some luck, he sent a bouncing ball into the long from the wrong side. The answer came almost immediately on the other side, the Hungarian defense was missed for a moment, and Jannisz Funtulisz took advantage of this to bomb the short. Moreover, not long after the Greeks were given another traffic, after the time was requested, Angelos Vlahopulos snapped into the net, there were two between them. He had five minutes left for the Hungarian national team to equalize or even reverse.
We didn’t even theorize for a long time, the team captain Dénes Varga scored his first goal in the match, we caught up. The answer came in the middle of the quarter, there were two again through Juvecis. Skumpakis also decided the match, barely two minutes before the end, increasing the Greek advantage to three goals. It was held until the end, so Hungary can play a bronze match on Sunday. (9–6)
In the other semi-finals, Spain and Serbia clash. The final will take place on Sunday at 9.30 Hungarian time, and the bronze match will be held at 6.40 on Sunday.
