Róbert Fazekas, European champion and world champion silver medal disc jockey, underwent a heart transplant. The athlete’s heart weakened due to a genetic disease, so he had been lying at the Semmelweis University Heart Outpatient Hospital for months waiting for a new organ.
Róbert Fazekas finally got a heart this week, which was planted on Thursday night.
The surgery went well, I’m fine!
Informed the Ugytudjuk.hu-the disco thrower, who is now waiting for a long time for rehabilitation, but is beyond his difficulty.
Before the London Olympics on July 10, 2012, Róbert Fazekas was revealed that the then 37-year-old athlete had not been nominated for the Games by the Hungarian Olympic Committee because stanozolol, an anabolic steroid, had been detected in his body during an out-of-competition inspection. In its decision at first instance, the Doping Committee found the athlete ‘s guilt to be established and banned him for eight years. The discus thrower appealed, and the appellate doping committee found that the athlete had not intentionally doped and, although he had not been released on the grounds of zero tolerance, his sentence was reduced to six years.
