Even though he had the script in his head, how he would ask for the hand of his love 20 years younger, somehow life always overrode Levente Harsányi’s carefully thought out plans. The TV presenter, who announced in November last year that he was engaged to his partner, Lara Obersovszky, on Friday morning TV2 Mocha as a guest of his show, he spoke in detail about the unusual engagement – but it was also unusual, as he accidentally knocked over his glass on the counter, gesticulating so much.
As he said, it was already a big headache for him to be able to take the ring to Italy without his partner noticing what he was up to. His bag was also searched at the airport, but he was not found.
The first stumbling block was at the airport. Then as fate would have it, on the penultimate day both of us got sick quickly, and I said, now we can’t wait any longer, since we’re going home the next day. There was nothing left to do, I was in the bathroom, I had the ring in my pocket, I went over between two coughs, knelt down nicely and handed it over in the robe
– recalled Harsányi, who, according to his claim, was so confused about what he should do that he didn’t even open the jewelry box. Finally, his beloved pointed out: he should put the ring on his finger, but as it turned out, he doesn’t mind that the engagement turned out this way.
He handed me the beautiful box with a bow. He got down on one knee, said I’m the love of his life, I say, so is this an early Christmas present? I must have guessed what was in it. I asked him if he would open it. We laughed all the way through. He unwrapped it and held the ring. I think I pulled it on my finger. It was a great joy
– said Lara Obersovszky, and the presenter, Péter Pachmann, asked: “Will there be something then?”, referring to the wedding. However, the lovers do not yet know when they will get married.
