The French FA (FFF) announced late Tuesday evening that the RB Leipzig striker – teammate of Péter Gulácsi, Dominik Szoboszlai and Willi Orbán – collided with a teammate during training and, according to the first x-rays, he injured his knee joint. Eight-time international Nkunku played in fine form for his club, scoring 12 goals in 15 league games, making him the most successful player in the Bundesliga.
The FFF announced that it had already filled out the necessary medical documents and sent them to the international federation (FIFA) so that it could nominate another player for the World Cup in Nkunku’s place. It was later decided on Wednesday that another Bundesliga player, Randal colorthe Eintracht Frankfurt striker will be included in the squad.
National team captain Didier Deschamps has already been forced to make several changes to the composition of the away team:
Before Nkunku, Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kanté and Presnel Kimpembe had to cancel their games through injuries.
The group opponents of the French will be Denmark, Australia and Tunisia in Qatar.
