Index Down 5 Percent, BEI Stop Trading

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Composite Stock Price Index ( IHSG) on trade on Indonesia stock exchange (IDX) fell sharply. This morning, Thursday (10/9/2020) at 10:36 AM IHSG fell sharply by 5 percent at the level of 4,892.87 or down 257.49 points.

Therefore, the IDX officially announced a trading halt or temporary suspension of trading. This is the first time the IDX has traded halt after trading halt occurred in March 2020.

“We hereby inform you that today, Thursday, September 10, 2020 there has been a temporary freeze on trading (trading halt) on the trading system on the IDX,” said the corporate secretary of PT. Indonesia stock exchange, Yulianto Aji Sadono through an official broadcast, Thursday (10/9/2020).

Halt trading was carried out due to the decline in the JCI reaching 5 percent. This is carried out in accordance with the Decree of the Board of Directors of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Number: Kep-00024 / BEI / 03-2020 dated March 10, 2020 regarding Changes in Guidelines for Trading Continuity on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in Emergency Conditions.

Trading will resume at 11:07 JATS time without any changes to the trading schedule.
