“There is a proportional election system in the capital, so there is no coercion, the voters can freely choose the party they like the most,” the party announced on Friday evening. As it was written, as the president of Momentum and the best-known politician, Anna Donáth symbolically leads the list, but she is not going to sit in the Capital Assembly.
The first five places on the list after Anna Donáth:
- Tamás Soproni, mayor of Terézváros, current leader of Momentum’s capital faction,
- Gábor Havasi, Health Councilor of the Capital City, current representative of the Capital City,
- Gábor Kerpel-Fronius, Deputy Mayor of Budapest responsible for smart cities and participation,
- Tünde Szkaliczki, Momentum III. district representative, board member of Budapesti Közművek,
- Eszter Kabos, economist, member of the board of BKK.
Other winners of the first ten places on the list: Dániel Berg, II. district deputy mayor, Dániel Rádai, VIII. district deputy mayor, Gergely Bálint, XVII. candidate for district mayor and Diána Stemler, X. district municipal representative.
As reported by Index, Momentum presented its program for the European Parliament and municipal elections on Friday. Anna Donáth, Momentum’s president and EP list leader, Tamás Soproni, current mayor of Terézváros, and Katalin Cseh, Momentum’s EP representative, spoke at the event.
At the event, Anna Donáth also announced that they would not shy away from a partnership with Péter Magyar. According to the research obtained by the Index, the majority of Budapest residents plan to vote for the DK-MSZP-Párbeszéd list led by Gergely Karácsony in the upcoming municipal elections, and it also turned out that Momentum is not doing very well.
