12.26: Math graduation is over. On the Eduline page can be read unofficial solutions to graduation tasks.
11.50: Szolnok’s foam isler and electric car are also included in the second part of the intermediate level math exam. Some topics were greatly shortened, for example functions, coordinate geometry, while, among other things, certain parts of financial knowledge were moved from an advanced level to an intermediate level. Despite this, not a single task related to financial knowledge appeared in the list of tasks for the maths exam, which surprised even the experts of the Studium Generale.
The equation in problem 13 should not cause a lot of trouble, perhaps part B may cause a dilemma for the students, because it has not happened much before in the graduation exam.
Problem 14 is a simple plane geometry, which shouldn’t have caused any problems, but in problem 15 there is already a rolling tree diagram.
In part AB, only two of the three tasks of the task series have to be solved. According to the experts, the students will probably skip the 16th because coordinate geometry is always considered alarming. The task about the foamy isler from Szolnok in 17 can also be scary at first, because it has many sub-tasks, but it is actually not difficult: “correct, there is nothing new in it”, they said Edulineabout task 17. Last year, there was a very similar task at the intermediate level, as in this year’s 18th electric car serial task, so those who have practiced it will not encounter anything new.
10.15: “It’s not extremely difficult, overall it’s correct, those who studied for the math exam were able to solve it,” they said Eduline-kid experts from the mathematics section of the Studium Generale.
According to some insights, the function assignment can be a problem because it may not meet the requirements of the new intermediate level mathematics qualification. Regarding the first part of the task, the experts of Studium Generale believe that there are difficult questions in it, the eighth task requires specific knowledge, practical knowledge is not enough.
And in task four, a new topic according to NAT also appears, with a graphic manipulation. In the tenth task, the functions appear, where one of the sub-questions can be problematic, because it does not necessarily address the requirements of the secondary school graduation.
9.53: The examinees are already writing the second part of the mathematics exam. The following topics are in the long list of tasks:
- equations,
- sodrófadiagram,
- graphs,
- Probability theory.
9.45: The first stage of the secondary mathematics qualification is over. It will soon become clear what subjects the examinees received in the second part.
9.35: There is a task in which the mean and standard deviation must be calculated. In addition, probability calculations are also encountered by those who present their knowledge at an intermediate level today. The task of calculating percentages is also relevant, as the results of a mayoral election must be calculated.
9.05: The topics at medium level, they occur with the following approximate proportions:
- Thinking methods, sets, logic, combinatorics, graphs: 20 percent
- Number theory, algebra: 25 percent
- Functions, elements of the analysis: 15 percent
- Geometry, coordinate geometry, trigonometry: 25 percent
- Probability calculation, statistics: 15 percent
Those graduating from intermediate level maths have to deal with these examples:
- sets,
- functions,
- geometry,
- arithmetic series,
- logarithm, percentage calculation.
The mandatory part of the spring graduation period of the 2023/2024 academic year continues, after the Hungarian language and literature exam on Monday, students can give an account of their math skills on Tuesday. According to the information provided by the Office of Education (OH), 69,047 students graduate from this subject at the intermediate level and 6,616 at the advanced level.
Since in 2024 the most important high school exam has arrived for those who started their studies according to the new National Core Curriculum in 2020, this exam, like the Hungarian one, also contains novelties. Although its structure has not changed, the topics have: surely many will be happy that sine, cosine and tangent functions no longer have to be calculated. At the same time, you have to cope with economic calculations such as the repayment installment or the collective annuity, but you also have to be able to calculate the risks of a loan, an investment or a savings.
It may also be a novelty for those graduating from the intermediate level that there are some tasks that have only had to be completed at the advanced level, such as geometric probability or conversion of the number system based on 10.
The math exam will be shorter than yesterday’s Hungarian one: today there are three hours available, which means that they will collect the worksheets handed out at nine o’clock at noon. However, here too it will be in two parts broken down the worksheet: at the intermediate level, the first one will take 45 minutes, it will consist of short (mostly simple, checking basic concepts) tasks, a total of twelve pieces, and then the second worksheet will come.
The second worksheet is the more difficult part, it will take 135 minutes. The second set of tasks consists of two parts: II. The part contains three problems of 9-14 points each – all of them must be solved. The II. In part B, three tasks, each worth 17 points, await the high school graduates – but only two of them have to be solved, and only these two will be evaluated by the remedial teacher. You will also see a check box on the worksheet, where you have to decide which of the three tasks you do not want the remedial teacher to evaluate. If they fail to do so, the corrector will automatically not take the last task into account, even if they would gain more points.
The situation is the same at an elevated level: there the II. in part, the examinees are given five tasks, four of which must be solved, and they must also indicate which ones they do not want the remedial teacher to take into account. The rule is the same as at intermediate level: if someone fails to do this, their last task will automatically not be taken into account.
