Index – Abroad – Coronavirus in the world – Index’s news bulletin on Wednesday

There were differing figures in the press about the exact number of vaccinations against the coronavirus in Serbia. Responding to information about this, Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar said how authoritative it was how many had already received both doses of the vaccine, meaning how many could be considered vaccinated.

He pointed out that this ratio has not yet reached the announced 50 percent, currently stands at 47.8 percent. As he said, concerns about the pandemic will not go away until the level of immunization is much higher.

At the moment, we need to put as much emphasis as possible on immunizing young people, because it is up to them how the coming months develop and what awaits us in the autumn.

Lončar put it this way, the epidemic does not go away on its own, it can only be stopped with the right level of immunity. According to the Minister, we should not be surprised by what we know in advance, namely that there will be another wave of the coronavirus epidemic, writes the Hungarian word.
