The Beatles co-founder Paul McCartney is a phenomenon that continues to surprise in 2020. He does not live from his former glory, his solo albums are still of high quality even in old age and they thrive commercially. The name McCartney III follows on from the solo albums McCartney from 1970 and McCartney II from 1980.

Paul McCartney hardly needs any co-workers. He composed, recorded and produced the novelty himself at the beginning of the year. “Every day I start recording the instrument on which I composed the song, and then gradually add more layers, it was fun,” he described his method, adding that he was more “making music for himself” and did not plan to release the whole album. Similarly, the album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard was released in 2005.
