The team’s board did not authorize the departure of its players, nor their transfer to the province to attend the funeral of their teammate, reported independent journalist Yosmanis Mayeta Labrada.
“Although many of his teammates had the desire to pay him posthumous tribute, attending the wake of the deceased young baseball player, the Team Management and Inder did not authorize the transfer to the city of Santiago,” he said.
According to the journalist, only one of the colleagues was able to attend. Although he did not clarify why he is not playing with the team, it is understood that he was a close friend of Colás, since he even attended the wake with his family.
“The team cannot come, but the rest of our friends, from the Youth School and other categories, are here with our parents,” the young man declared to Mayeta Labrada.
After the team to which he dedicated so many years, and with whose jersey he was buried, could not attend Colás’s wake, fans on social networks are asking that the team dedicate some kind of tribute to the memory of the young player, who painted to be professional.
