The debut of the new signings, after an endless wait, will also be a new beginning for Julio Vaccari at Independiente. Lomónaco opened the scoring for Independiente
To beat Estudiantes, Independiente repeated the formula that had allowed it to draw with San Lorenzo, playing more than 70 minutes with 10 players. It pulled back its lines, redoubled its efforts and waited for its chances to hit Eduardo Domínguez’s team. Starting with Ávalos, the most advanced player and symbol of sacrifice, the Rojo was much more pragmatic. It understood its deficiencies and its strong points. It did not shine, of course, but it began to show itself as a team, with all that implies that word used as a compliment.
In a very even development, Independiente took the lead with two dead balls, something unforgivable for the Pincha DNA. They were two identical actions.
