Independent! Today’s Covid Cases in Jakarta Drop Again

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Health noted that today, Tuesday (17/08/2021) there were 655 new cases of Covid-19 in DKI Jakarta, bringing the total to 841,610.

Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases has exceeded the number of new cases, as many as 920 people. In total, there are 819,592 Covid-19 survivors in Indonesia.

The death cases increased by 24 people bringing the total to 13,102 cases. With this development, active cases in Jakarta fell again to 8,916 cases.

DKI Jakarta’s position regarding the addition of new cases of Covid-19 is increasingly under control. Today DKI Jakarta occupies the 12th position in Indonesia regarding the rate of addition of new cases of Covid-19.

The first position of additional cases is currently held by the province of Central Java where the addition of cases per day is 3,263 cases, followed by East Java with 2,346 cases, and West Java with 1,643 new cases.

Even DKI Jakarta is under North Sumatra, DI Yogyakarta, Bali, East Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, Riau, South Kalimantan, and East Nusa Tenggara.

Meanwhile, the addition of cases nationwide today added 20,741 new cases. Meanwhile, recovered cases reached 32,225 cases, which means there was a decrease in active cases as many as 12,664 cases.

There are currently 358,357 active cases in Indonesia and 1,180 cases of death today.

Even though the number of cases has decreased, the government reminds them to remain vigilant. This is because the mobility of the people on the islands of Java and Bali has mostly returned to normal conditions.

It is feared that this situation will increase the number of Covid-19 cases again.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said this situation did show that economic activity was starting to recover quickly. However, there are still haunting risks.

“This shows the economy is recovering quickly but there is a risk of increasing cases in the next two to three weeks if we are not careful,” Luhut said during a press conference Monday night (16/8/2021).
