He will answer to Themis for attempted coercion

The prosecutor’s office charged independent MP Radostin Vasilev with attempted coercion. On leaving the investigation of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office, he explained that he was not imposed a restraining order.

Earlier, the state prosecution announced that in the course of the investigation, enough evidence was collected for Vasilev to be brought in as a defendant for having tried to force Hristinka Ivanova to leave the ITN parliamentary group and the parliament on June 13 last year. If found guilty, he faces up to 6 years in prison.

Radostin Vassilev appeared for questioning at the National Investigation Service

Vassilev called the accusation “false”.

On May 11, he filed in the National Assembly’s registry a declaration waiving his immunity as a representative of the people, with which he agreed to proceed with criminal proceedings against him.
