Although independent, he received the support of the National Diet and local assembly members of the RDP and Rengo Ibaraki, and won the only election campaign in the prefecture that was a one-on-one battle between the ruling and opposition parties .

Regarding the possibility of entering the private sector in the future, Mr. Nakamura said, “I can’t afford to cause any trouble,” as Representative Yoshihiko Noda advocates a hereditary restriction, but he said, “I don’t intend to stay independent forever. The time is right. We will consider a merger,” he explained. On the other hand, since the Ishiba administration has become a minority ruling party and the political situation is shifting, he also said, “It is better not to limit too many opportunities” as to which party he joins.
