independent experts have tested the battery AirPods Max

Apple promises up to 20 hours of battery life for AirPods Max. And this is with active noise cancellation on! In general, almost an application for a record. German design agency Floating Pixels decided verifyto what extent these numbers correspond to reality.

Before starting the test, the headphone battery was charged to the maximum, then we connected the AirPods Max to the iPhone and turned on the Top 100 playlist on Apple Music. Music playback was performed at 75% volume and active noise cancellation on. Tests have shown that the headphones worked not even 20 hours, but as much as 22 hours, after which they turned off and disconnected from the iPhone. Alexander Leiminer, co-founder of Floating Pixels, who in his blog and told about the experiment, noted a very strange indication of the charge of the headphones on the smartphone.

During the first hour, the battery lost only 1% of its charge, and then the discharge began to take place more actively. Alexander believes that the matter here lies in some kind of software bug. After discharging the battery, the agency decided to check Apple’s statement, which says that 5 minutes of recharging AirPods Pro will give an hour and a half of listening to music. 5 minutes after connecting to the network, the headphones under the same conditions (75% volume with active noise cancellation) were able to work for 1 hour and 39 minutes. So the stated figures are fully justified and the real indicators even slightly bypass them.

But the Smart Case that comes with the earbuds has no effect on battery retention. Apple first stated that the cover would put the headphones into a special “economy mode”, but later updated the document in support, in which it explained that it did not affect anything. For 12 hours in the case, as well as without it, the headphone battery lost 5% of its charge.
