Beset by financial problems, the Premiot Group of businessman Ondrej Spodniak is intensively solving how to save itself. For this, she hired the leading law firm Havel & Partners. The office managed by the elite lawyer Jaroslav Havel is supposed to help Premiot deal with debts and find investors for projects.
Around 3,300 people invested in Premiot, mainly through bonds. The company’s liabilities are in units of billions of crowns. There is no information about the value of the holding’s property.
“Our specialists are currently working on creating a legal and financial structure for the Premiot group, which will contribute to minimizing the damage and rectifying the situation. In connection with solving this situation, among other things, we are also conducting negotiations with investors in selected projects of this group,” said Premiot’s media representative Štěpán Dlouhý.
Part of Premiot’s bonds for roughly 200 million crowns was due at the end of 2022. Although the investors received interest, they are still waiting in vain for the repayment of the principal. Premiot promised to resolve the situation after the first quarter, when it completes the negotiated business transactions.
As the editors of SZ Byznys already reported, Premiot had to stop the construction of its development projects in Prague 5 and Harrachov. However, both constructions only started in the fall. The company justified the interruption due to the market situation and climatic conditions. However, according to the findings of SZ Byznys, the construction contractor stopped the construction because Premiot does not pay his invoices. According to the server E15.cz, Premiot did not even manage to complete the hotel project in Budapest.
“The group is negotiating with several partners about the group’s financing structure, so that not only all liabilities are paid, but also that the companies in the group have enough liquidity for future projects. It is important to emphasize that the group’s assets greatly exceed the amount of existing liabilities,” added company representative Dlouhý. However, the exact value of the group’s assets is not known.
Main companies in the Premiot Group
The Havel & Partners law firm has only recently received a mandate to resolve the situation in Premiot. Her insolvency and restructuring team was involved in the case. It specifically seeks out companies that have run into trouble.
“The Havel & Partners office, together with selected financial advisors, was involved in solving the group’s current problems with the aim of eliminating previous shortcomings and contributing to solving the future of this group,” said Premiot’s media representative Štěpán Dlouhý.
He also manages Premium Media Group, another company owned by lawyer Jaroslav Havel.
In the past, Jan Holásek, Jaroslav Havel’s former law partner and current senator, was temporarily close to Premiot. Holásek broke up with Havel in 2015. From September 2019 to July 2020, Holásek was a member of Premiot’s supervisory board. So he left the company even before he was elected to the Senate in October 2020.
“As part of this cooperation, I devoted myself to the preparation of new projects, especially in the field of production of system building elements. In the end, however, the implementation of these projects did not happen, and therefore neither continued cooperation, which is why I ended my tenure on the supervisory board. For more than two years, I have not cooperated with Premiot at all,” said the senator.
