Ingredients for an 8-portion flan:
- 4 eggs
- 350 grams of dulce de leche
- 600 milliliters of milk
- Liquid candy
How to prepare dulce de leche flan
Spread the liquid caramel on the bottom and inner edges of the mold or flan that you are going to use. If you prefer, you can make the caramel at home with a little sugar and water. Both ingredients are mixed in a pot and it is brought to medium heat. When it has a reddish color like caramel, it can be removed from the heat.
Once the mold is caramelized, crack the eggs in a bowl and beat them until the whites and yolks are integrated.
In the same mold, add the milk and the dulce de leche, to which it is previously warmed so that they join more easily (not hot so that they do not cook the egg). Mix everything for a few minutes until it is integrated. It is also convenient to strain the mixture when putting it in the mold.
When the mixture is in the caramelized mold, it is put in the oven to cook in a bain-marie for an hour or until the flan is completely set.
Let cool for a few minutes at room temperature before putting it in the fridge, where it should stay for at least 2 hours before unmolding. Serve with cream, sweet or alone.
