Sülbeck – As part of the 45th Göttingen Jazz Festival, saxophonist and composer Muriel Grossman and her quartet will be guests on Saturday 5 November, from 20:00 at the “Kultur im Esel” in Sülbeck. In her playing, Muriel Grossmann evokes the transcendent in the sense most closely associated with John Coltrane’s late music. At the same time, their music maintains an independence that has been described by critics as “timeless beautiful”, “innovatively transcendent” and “incredibly powerful”.
Muriel Grossmann’s music alternately conveys meditative tranquility and ecstatic expressiveness in a cohesive ensemble performance that features his quartet with Radomir Milojkovic (Spain) on guitar, Abel Boquera (Spain) on Hammond B3 organ and Uros Stamenkovic (Canada) on battery has developed over many years.
