A 32-year-old man from Pitesti, suspected of sexually assaulting a minor, was detained by the police, who notified themselves following a post on a social network.

According to a communiqué sent on Thursday by the Argeş County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), the man is suspected of committing the crime of rape, writes agerpres.ro.

The investigations are being carried out by the police officers from the Pitesti Criminal Investigation Bureau, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court.

“Investigations have established that on January 7, the person in question had sex with a 17-year-old minor, against his will. The complaint was made ex officio, following a post on a social network, by to a person in the victim’s circle of acquaintances “, the communiqué states.

The suspect was detained for 24 hours on the basis of an ordinance, and will be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Piteşti Court on Thursday, with a proposal to take a preventive measure.
