Wild incidents broke out inside the Ministry of Civil Protection and Climate Crisis, where seasonal firefighters have taken over in the last few hours.
Forces of the MAT and the “Action” team that were inside the building clashed with the seasonal firefighters who invaded the ministry early Thursday afternoon, while chemicals were also dropped.
The incidents injured at least one firefighter, who was taken by an ambulance. The first information indicates a head injury, according to ERT.
Earlier, the police forces had given a deadline for the firefighters to leave by 20:30, which ultimately did not happen. Unbelievable images followed, with clashes between the police and firefighters.

Due to the tense situation, the traffic of vehicles on Kifissias avenue at the height of the ministry was stopped in both streams.
Seasonal firefighters staged a mass midday protest outside the Climate Crisis Ministry as their contracts expired today. Among their demands were 12-month contracts, while they demanded to meet Vassilis Kikilia. The minister responded by announcing that he will meet representatives of the seasonal firefighters next Wednesday (6/11).
