The second set was much more even than the previous one. Throughout the set, the Rzeszów players had a minimal advantage (8:7, 16:14), who won the set ball at 24:22. However, the rivals managed to lead to a competitive advantage. However, the team from Rzeszów won the war of nerves, and the result at 29:27 was determined by the rivals’ mistake in the attack.
In the third set Volero volleyball players gained the advantage (6:10, 9:15). The charges of coach Stéphane Antiga set off to make up for the losses and succeeded (18:18). The ending was very emotional again. The home team had the match ball at 24:22, the rivals again led to the advantage game. However, they made a mistake in the last action. The result of 26:24 gave the Rzeszów team victory and meant that the quarter-finalist of the CEV Champions League 2023 will be selected by the “golden set”.
We had to wait a long time for it to start – there were problems with starting the electronic protocol. The visiting team started the decisive game better (3:5), the Rzeszów players made up for the loss (5:5). When changing sides, the Home team had an advance point after Izabella Rapacz’s attack (8:7). The fate of the rivalry hung in the balance until the very end. The point block after a fierce exchange gave the Developres team a set ball (14:12). The rivals still defended themselves, but in the next action they spoiled the service. The team from Rzeszów won 15:13 and registered in the quarter-finals of the Champions League 2023!
