This regulation regulates the temporary elimination of homecoming for people using land, rail, sea and air transportation modes across cities / regencies / provinces / countries. The elimination of homecoming is valid from May 6 to May 17, 2021.

“This Circular Addendum is effective from April 22 to May 5, 2021 and May 18 to May 24, 2021, and will be further reviewed as needed,” said the addendum.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) spokesman, Fadjroel Rachman, said the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in India was the reason for the government to tighten travel requirements before and after the 2021 homecoming ban. The government, he said, was worried that Indonesia would be hit by the Corona tsunami.

However, Fadjroel said going home was still prohibited. The government has stipulated a ban on going home from a long time ago.
“But the ban remains on May 6 to 17, then D + 7 there is a tightening of the travelers,” he said.
He said that travel requirements were tightened to prevent an increase in Corona cases after the long holiday was repeated. He said this was an effort by the government to control the spread of Corona.
“In my opinion, this is a direct effort to deal with the situation. So this is an adaptive effort from President Joko Widodo to face repeated situations,” he said.
