As reported by Welt am Sonntag, the Ministry of Education in Brandenburg alone reported almost a hundred incidents by the beginning of June, around 40 more than in the previous school year. This includes, for example, when students show the Hitler salute. The number also increased in Thuringia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. According to the report, the education ministries of most other countries did not keep statistics on this.

The federal government’s anti-Semitism commissioner, Klein, called for a nationwide obligation to report anti-Semitic incidents in schools.

Recently, two teachers in the Spreewald made right-wing extremist activities at their school public in a fire letter. After the ensuing hostilities, they declared that they wanted to transfer to another school. The teacher Max Teske practiced in the “Märkische Allgemeine” the school authorities in Brandenburg: “No one stood in front of us and said quite frankly that they would support us and do everything possible to ensure that right-wing extremism has no place in schools”. Instead, there was a lot of lip service. But that’s not enough.
