Increases on bills, how much money does the government plan to allocate: indiscretions

Let’s see in detail what are the hypotheses that Mario Draghi’s government is thinking about to help families and businesses to sustain increases in electricity and gas users that have now become unsustainable.

Five billion. This is the figure that the government seems willing to allocate for the rise in bills without having to resort to the instrument of budget variance. It is not yet clear, however, what kind of measures are intended to be implemented, and if they will have, for example, collected the suggestions arrived from the Arera, which in the House a few days ago, presented some hypotheses on how to specifically help families from price increases that are putting them in serious economic difficulty. And among the various proposals feared by the association there is for example that of removing from the bill of energy users all the accessory costs that do not concern consumption.

Increases on bills, the statements of the director of Enel Italia

The director for the Italy section of Enel, Nicola Lanzanetta, recently spoke on the matter and stated that “To contain the impact of the increase in bills if at the country level the only way to definitively protect ourselves from fluctuations in the value of fossil fuels, and in particular gas, is to encourage and accelerate the spread of generation plants from renewable sources, already today it is possible to protect oneself from the volatility of energy prices by choosing the offers available on the free market, with multi-year contracts and at fixed and blocked prices. This is true both for families and for businesses ”.

Some sources close to the government also refer to them as Draghi is considering two possible solutions within which to use these five billion. Or an installment of bills or multi-year contracts on electricity and gas at a fixed price.
