Increased by 2, Patients Died of Mysterious Acute Hepatitis So 7 People

KOMPAS.com – Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, confirmed that there were two additional patients acute hepatitis mysterious who died.

The two patients came from DKI Jakarta and East Kalimantan.

“There have been 7 people, 4 in DKI Jakarta, 1 West Sumatra, 1 East Java, and 1 East Kalimantan,” Nadia said when confirmed Kompas.com, Thursday (12/5/2022).

According to him, the two new patients who died were aged 7 and 10, respectively.

Nadia explained that the symptoms experienced by these patients were on average the same, namely jaundice, tea brown urine, and putty-colored stools.

However, the patient’s condition when he was brought to the hospital was on average too late and critical.

Regarding the findings of 21 new cases in DKI Jakarta, his party still cannot confirm it.

Until now, Nadia said there have been 18 cases mysterious acute hepatitis reported.

“9 pending classification, 7 do not meet the criteria for acute hepatitis, and 2 are still in the process of laboratory examination,” he said.

Head of the Gastro-Hepatology Coordination Unit (UKK) of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) Dr. Dr. Muzal Kadim SpA(K) said there are a number of factors that increase the risk of acute hepatitis infection in children.
