As of this Thursday, the increase from 35 to 45 percent provided by the Government for the rate on account of Earnings and Personal Assets in those purchases made with a credit card destined for consumption in dollars in travel and expenses abroad.
Meanwhile, this measure affects all operations covered by the PAIS tax, which also includes the payment of services in dollars from platforms such as Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime, among others.
Taking into account that the price of the official dollar at the close of Wednesday was $135.15, the consumptions reached as of this Thursday by the tax will stop paying a dollar of $223 to pay $237. Thus, the increase will be 6 percent.
Likewise, the increase in final prices will be reflected in pesos in the invoices of the streaming services.
Measure
Specifically, all card payment operations in dollars are included in the new rate, including those related to withdrawals or cash advances made abroad.
Also the purchases made through portals or virtual sites, as well as the payment of services provided by non-resident subjects in the country that are canceled by means of cards.
In addition, the acquisition of services abroad contracted through travel and tourism agencies -wholesalers and retailers- of the country; and land, air and water transport services for passengers with destinations outside the country, to the extent that the foreign exchange market must be accessed to cancel the operation.
