Car network Jabodebek LRT will be increased to 16 series and will gradually be increased to 27 series. Currently, every day there are only 14 networks operating.
By increasing the number of networks to 16 car networks, headway or the waiting time between trains could be 7.5-15 minutes with a travel time of 50-54 minutes.
The Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation is considering adding additional Jabodebek LRT trains to be operated following increased public interest. As of Friday 9 September, the total passengers served by the Jabodebek LRT reached 471,847 people.
“Thank God, the Jabodebek LRT is almost always busy, in one day we can carry up to 56,286 passengers and we are optimistic that this number will continue to increase,” said Risal in his statement, Tuesday (12/9/2023).
Jabodebek LRT More Punctual
Risal also explained the achievements of punctuality (on time performance/OTP) Jabodebek LRT has started to increase. Since 5-9 September 2023, the Jabodebek LRT OTP achievement has reached 81.0% with an average delay of only around 1.9 minutes.
Nevertheless, Risal appealed to operators, in this case PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI, to really ensure that existing obstacles have been fully handled properly before the number of train series operated increases.
“Resolve the obstacles that were identified yesterday and do it according to the standards/rules that have been set,” stressed Risal.
Furthermore, Risal stated that the operational schedule Jabodebek LRT It will also be evaluated to accommodate input from the community.
“We are currently issuing recommendations so that the Jabodebek LRT can be operated later at night from 05.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB so that it can transport people who go home later, hopefully this can be realized after increasing the number of trains,” concluded Risal.
