Storage In Speicher, citizens will soon have to pay more for work on the morgue.
From 2021, the cemetery fees in Speicher will rise, and strongly. The price per grave site will be increased from 22 euros, which was previously due, to 40 euros. The price is related to the renovation of the morgue.

There is a lot going on there. Windows have to be replaced, whereby the glass ornaments should be preserved. Plastering and painting work are planned and specialists must also work on the roof.

The forecourt is still in good condition, but the building authorities want to think about the air conditioning in the morgue. It is now 20 years old and there are considerations to buy a refrigerator truck and no longer use air conditioning.

A total of 180,000 euros in borrowing is required for the measures. This has called the local authority on the plan. She says fees will have to be increased if this loan is taken out. The city council dealt with the topic in July 2020 and passed the new fee statute for the Speicher cemetery, which with almost 17,800 square meters is the largest in the community.

The implementation is no longer possible this year and will be carried out in 2021 with the general notification of submission. This was presented to the city council for information.
