Incoterms CIP – Carriage and insurance paid up to | Global Crane Logistics

Incoterms® CIP: transport and insurance paid up to – What is the meaning of the term CIP shipping? With Incoterm CIP, the seller arranges transport, costs and insurance on behalf of the buyer to an agreed place of destination.

Under the terms of Incoterms 2020 CIP, the risk is transferred to the customer once it is delivered to the first carrier. It is the responsibility of the seller to obtain comprehensive insurance coverage in accordance with cargo insurance contracts (A) or similar contracts on behalf of the buyer. It is important to check coverage levels and check if additional insurance is required. The seller also pays for insurance.

The seller is responsible for the cost of transportation. like Comprehensive insurance coverage. Product insurance is not a thing if you are a seller and it is important to check your minimum insurance and coverage rates; additional insurance may be required. As with Incoterm CPT, the goods are delivered, and risk is transferred from the seller to the buyer, at the point at which the carrier is in charge of the goods. The buyer is responsible from that moment regardless of the method of transport.
