Inconveniences at Ruggi, Polichetti: «Failure management, professionals on the run»

Corporate management defined as “failure” and an unsustainable working climate were at the center of the press conference held this morning by Mario Polichettinational health and social policy manager of the UDC, at the Verdi bar in Salerno. Polichetti launched a harsh accusation against the university hospital “San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona” and its manager, Vincenzo D’Amatoasking for his resignation.

«Since he arrived, manager D’Amato has managed to empty the “Ruggi” of its best professionals, creating a climate of terror and penalizing anyone who dares to express an opinion different from the official line», declared Polichetti.

An emblematic example of this climate would be, according to Polichetti, the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the doctor Giuseppe Allegro. «Doctor Allegro was punished only for having had the courage to oppose the unique thinking that currently exists in this Company», he stated.

Polichetti did not spare criticism of the general organization of “Ruggi”, also citing the “Coscioni case” as a demonstration of the hospital’s managerial and strategic shortcomings. «It is clear that this company lacks a vision for the future and management that is worthy of its mission. We cannot continue to humiliate public health like this», he added.

The former head of “Ruggi”, who decided to leave the company also because of these problems, concluded his speech with an appeal: «An immediate change of direction is needed. I ask that manager D’Amato leave his position to allow a reconstruction based on transparency, competence and respect for the professionals who sacrifice themselves every day for patients», he concluded.
