Inconvenience for the Czech athletic ace. A muscle bit my piece of rib, he says

Vlastimil Vacek, Right

You haven’t raced in almost four weeks, why such a break?

I was at the races in Linz and my rib ached the next morning. After X-rays and sono, we found out that my rib had been bitten a little, so I was canceling the races and I would hope that it would improve.

How did the injury happen to you?

We threw badly and swerved a lot to the left. And as a big blow, the muscle bit my tip of the rib a little.

The Czechs have opened the Olympic gate! Incredible time, they marveled. No one in the world was faster this year

How painful is it now?

I’ve been throwing with less intensity in training, but the rib will probably hurt for a long time, it won’t go away right away. I go for various injections, it also helps calmness and, most importantly, better throwing.

Didn’t you want to extend the racing break even with regard to the Olympics?

It is not necessary. The last two workouts looked fine and I need some races before the Olympics.

At the same time, you had a good start to the season, you threw at the Golden Stirrup in 65 meters

When I found out about the injury, I was very sad, I didn’t quite understand how they would limit me towards the Olympics. But I had unnecessary worries, maybe it will be good.

So what do you expect from each other in Cluj? The main point will be the supply of points for the team?

I don’t want to ruin that rib even more, but I would like to throw in 60 meters and get points for the team. I just don’t like the format of the race very much. We have three attempts and the final fourth almost an hour after the start of the competition, which is quite stupid even with regard to the rib, when we warm up two hours before the race and then comes a longer break. But otherwise I’m looking forward to the event, when the whole team goes there, it’s always more fun.
